"HARRY EDWARDS KETLEY, whose death in his sixty-fifth year occurred on 19th February 1948, was elected an Associate Member of the Institution in 1922. He received his education at the Woolwich Polytechnic and served his apprenticeship from 1896 to 1903 with the India Rubber Gutta Percha and Telegraph Works Company, Ltd., at Silvertown, in whose employment he continued as foreman fitter for another year.
During the next twelve years he was at sea as marine engineer rising from fourth to second engineer and obtaining his First-Class Board of Trade Certificate. In 1920 Mr. Ketley joined the Ocean Accident and Guarantee Corporation, Ltd., and remained with them until his retirement on account of ill-health in 1945."
