HARRY ALLEN had been since 1921 works manager at the Acton works of Messrs. D. Napier and Son.

He served his apprenticeship with Messrs. Merryweather and Sons of Greenwich from 1890 to 1896, and four years later was appointed departmental manager at the Prescot works of the British Insulated Company.

In 1908 he became works manager to Messrs. J. H. Tucker and Company of Birmingham, and in 1911 he went to the United States to take up a similar position for the Simms Magneto Company.

Two years later he returned to Birmingham as production manager at the Austin Motor Company's works.

In 1917 he went to Russia as works director of the Government automobile factory, but he returned to the Austin Motor Company in the following year and remained with them until taking up his appointment with Messrs. Napier.

His death occurred on 13th August 1928, at the age of 55.

He became a Member of the Institution in 1922.
