Handcross Hill Accident

Steep hill some 18 miles from brighton.

1906 A Vanguard bus taking a party of firemen from Orpington to Brighton, when the brakes failed and it crashed in to a tree at 40 mph. There were 36 persons on the bus and ten died in the accident.[1]
