1847 Advertisement: 'To Calico Printers and Others. TO BE SOLD BY AUCTION, ….at Wigton, in Cumberland, The machinery, utensils, and other EFFECTS, belonging to the estate of A. Halliley and Co, Bankrupts. The Machinery comprises one CONDENSING STEAM ENGINE, 25 horse power, Sherrat, of Salford, with two twenty horse Boilers.
One nine-eights Friction Calender, by Houlston and Co.; one nine-eights Four Colour Cylinder, with two colour surface Printing Machine; one seven-eighths Three Colour Cylinder, and one colour surface Printing Machine; one seven-eighths Single Colour Printing Machine; one Screw Forcing Machine; one nine-eighths Starching Mangle, with Brass Bowl and Crimping Rail; one Cylinder Drying Machine; one nine-eighths Damping Machine; one broad Wood Calender; ten Dash Wheels; one 18-inch Slide Lathe, 10 feet bed, and double geared; one Iron framed Circular Saw Bench and Saws; one Cutter's Rolling Machine; one pair of Squeezers; one Padding Machine, with two Block Tin Bowls; one Hydraulic Press, with 5 inch Ram, and one do. Pump; one Screw Press. wards two hundred copper rollers, both EXGRAVED AND PLAIN. Also, range of six cased Copper Colour Pans; one large cased Copper Pan, with man hole door; one Wrought Iron Steaming Pan; Wrought Iron and other Boilers; four Cast Metal Blue Vats; a great quantity of Shafting and Gearing; Steam and Water Pipes; Printer's and other Tables; Desks; Millwright's Tools; Blocks and Ropes; Scales and Weights; quantity of Old Metal; about 1500 feet five-eights Holly Wood Boards. The Steam Engine and principal Machinery will sold on the first day of sale. The Sale to commence each day at Twelve o'clock. The whole to be sold for Ready Money. For particulars apply to Messrs.
