c.1824 The business was established by Mr Hall

1898 Public company incorporated because the fast growing family business needed additional investment; up to this time the business had been run by the 3rd generation Halls and the fourth generation was just joining the board.[1]

1918 Name changed from Hall and Co (Croydon) Ltd to Hall and Co Ltd[2]

1959 Hall and Co acquired Thames Gravel Co Ltd and Marriott and Son (Coal Merchants)[3]

1960 The business was principally concerned with aggregate and also as coal merchants; invested in a new factory to make Durox gas-concrete building units as well as 2 new mortar plants in addition to the existing 3 ready mixed concrete facilities[4]

1961 The Hall and Ham River Company Ltd was incorporated to acquire Hall and Co Ltd and Thames Grit and Aggregates Ltd
