At the time of his death he was the Manager and Engineer to the Cambridge Waterworks Company.He Devised and Carried out the waterworks at Trowbridge, Melksham, Frome and Devizes. He was also responsible for the Warminster Waterworks Scheme and the reconstruction of Ely Waterworks. He was Engineer to the Frome Sewerage Scheme and a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
