Mr. LUPTON was educated at Wellington College and Trinity College, Cambridge, taking the Mechanical Sciences Tripos in 1914.

In 1919 he joined Messrs. Hathorn Davey and Company, Ltd., of which firm he later became a director.

In 1926 he was awarded the Watt Gold Medal of the Institution of Civil Engineers for a paper on steam-driven pumping machinery. He became a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in 1932.

Mr. Lupton left Messrs. Hathorn Davey in 1938 and in 1939 he was appointed Mechanical Engineer of the Metropolitan Water Board which position he now occupies.
