1912 'The Anchor Works until recently belonged to Messrs. Crompton and Fawkes, Ltd., but were sold a few weeks ago to Mr. Budgett, of the Crown Works, Chelmsford. Practically everything had been cleared out preparatory to the new firm starting business'[1]
