1882 Description and illustrations of 'Portland' Patent rotary pump. The pump and similar rotary steam engines were invented by Mr. Arnold Heussy, 'engineer to the firm of Messrs. Goldschmidt, Haklo [sic], and Co., Manchester.'[1]
1883 'Portland Patent' rotary steam pump and engine described and illustrated in The Engineer, 6th July 1883. Note: In 1883, Frank Pearn and Co were advertising in 'The Textile Manufacturer' as sole licensees and makers of the 'Portland' Patent Rotary Pump in England
George Hahlo, J.P., of Messrs Goldschmidt, Hahlo & Co. was referred to as Director of Globe Marine Insurance Co Ltd in a list of private investors in the Blackpool Tower Company[2]
