1897 The Glasgow and Renfrew District Railway was authorised

1901 Glasgow and Renfrew District Railway was absorbed by the Caledonian Railway and Glasgow and South Western Railway.

1903 Glasgow and Renfrew District Railway was opened to passengers. A connection to the existing Paisley and Renfrew Railway was made at Renfrew south station

1926 The Renfrew Porterfield to Cardonald Junction section was closed to passengers

1964 The Renfrew South No 2 to Renfrew Kings Inch section was closed to freight
