1870 The partnership between William Allan and James Pattison was dissolved, with the former carrying on the firm of the Glasgow Patent Moulders' Blacking Company on his own account.[1]
1896 The partnership between Henry Alfred Allan and Daniel Douglas was dissolved, with the latter carrying on the business.[2]
1913 The business was sold and transferred, as at 9th August, to John MacEwan who was to carry on the business.[3] The Glasgow Patent Moulders' Blacking Company Limited was incorporated as a private company, with capital of £4,000, to take over the business of the Glasgow Patent Moulders' Blacking Company, and to carry on the business of ironfounders' blacking manufacturers.[4]
1922 Managing Director: John MacEwan. Specialities.— Patent moulders' blacking, plumbago, etc., graded coke for sulphuric acid plant.
1925 A new company, the Glasgow Patent Moulders' Blacking Company (1925) Limited, was incorporated as a private company, with capital of £3,000, to carry on business as iron, steel, coal, coke, and general merchants and commission agents.[5]
1948 The company was struck off and dissolved.[6]
