1907 Thomas Gillett commenced business on his own account.

1912 Turned the business into a limited liability company, Gillett, Stephen and Co.

1913 20 engineers and 1 draughtsman employed in the business. Work included electric motors and general engineering, road locomotives and brickmaking plant.[1]

1919 March. Advert for their works where they can produce car engine, gear boxes, back axles and steering sets etc. [2]

c.1932 Made superchargers for Jameson Superchargers and Oil Mixers (Foreign) Ltd

1937 Internal combustion engines. [3]

1944 Patent by the company with George James Archibald Smith "An improved hand-operated power-assisted machine for reaming and other cutting or working operations"
