GEORGE WILSON, born on the 20th February, 1854, at Stratford, died at Hove on the 15th April, 1910.
Having gained practical experience on the Great Eastern and London and South Western Railways and elsewhere, he was employed under the late Mr. Robert Wilson and Mr. John Carruthers, whom he later successively joined as a partner, in designing, inspecting and generally superintending engineering work carried out for the New Zealand, Western Australian and Venezuelan Governments.
At his retirement, about 13 years before his death, he was joint Consulting Engineer to the New Zealand Government.
He was elected an Associate Member of The Institution on the 6th April, 1886, and was transferred to the class of Members on the 12th January, 1897.
