Career: 1894-1901—with Matabele Gold Reefs and Estates Co., Ltd., Rhodesia; Managing various Gold Mines, including Jessie and Blanket Mines; I901-6— Managing Sabiwa Gold Mine, Rhodesia; erected Reduction and Treatment Plant; 19o8-9—in private practice as Evans and Craufurd, at Silver City, New Mexico, U.S.A.; 1910-13—Manager, Tasmanian Metals Extraction Co., Ltd.; Charge of erection of plant for the Treatment of Complex Ores at Rosebery, West Coast, Tasmania; 1913—engaged on Eastern Smelting Co.'s work; was appointed Manager at Works, Penang, since 1914.
