George Smith (1782-1869)
George Smith (1782-1869). English architect and surveyor of the early 19th century, with strong connections with central and south-east London.
Born at Aldenham in Hertfordshire.
He was articled to Robert Furze Brettingham, and later worked for James Wyatt, Daniel Asher Alexander, and then Charles Beazley, before eventually setting up in practice on his own account in the City of London
