1841 George Skirrow Beecroft, J.P. for Leeds, entered into partnership with his cousins John, Thomas and Ambrose at Kirkstall Forge, of which the Butler and Beecroft families had been proprietors since 1778.

1842 Ironmaster, widower, married Mary Isabella Beaumont[3]

1844 Birth of son George Audas-Beaumont Beecroft

1851 Ironmaster, living at Abbey House, Headingley, Leeds (age 40 born Horsworth). With wife Mary J. (age 32 born Halifax) and son George A. B. (age 10 born Kirkstall). Four servants. [4]

1858 Retired from Beecroft, Butler and Co

1861 M.P. for Leeds, living in London, with Mary E Beecroft 42, George A B Beecroft 16, Septima B Beecroft 23, and his mother in law, Alia Beecroft 67[5]
