1871 'At the Manchester assizes, on Monday, the widow of the late Mr. George Henry Smith, civil engineer, whose death was caused by the accident which occurred Harrow in November last, obtained £3,200 from the London and North-Western Railway Company compensation and damages for the loss of her husband.'[1]
