From Graces Guide
June 1923.

1897 George H. Leavey and Company Limited was incorporated with capital of £75,000. The company's prospectus stated that it had been formed to acquire the retail clothing businesses of Mr. G. H. Leavey, of 65 and 66 High Street and Mill Street, Maidstone (established in 1884), 95, 97, and 99 High Street Chatham (established in 1886), 12, 14 and 16 Hare Street, Woolwich (opened in May, 1895); and 54 High Street, Bromley (purchased in 1896); also an option to purchase the premises being erected for Mr. Leavey at 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 The Broadway, Stratford.[1]

1950 George H. Leavey died, in his 93rd year. According to his obituary, he founded the tailors and outfitters that bore his name and built the firm's premises in Chatham.[2] For some reason, the company had by now altered its name by a single letter to become George H. Lavey and Company Limited.

1993 The company, which by now had changed its name to Osband Group Investments Limited, was dissolved.[3]
