1911 Engineer Apprentice Fitter in the Naval Construction industry was lodging in Barrow in Furness[2]

c.1922 Chief assistant turbine designer to the English Electric Co.

1923 Joined the staff of Hick, Hargreaves and Co of Bolton as chief turbine designer and manager of the firm's new steam turbine department. [3]

1939 George Arrowsmith, Company director, chief engineer (Mechanical), lived in Bolton with Annie J Arrowsmith[4]
