Geoffrey Loader Ensor was born in 1902 and was apprenticed to automobile engineering with Vauxhall Motors, Ltd. At the conclusion of his apprenticeship he was transferred to the Experimental Engine Department, and in 1926 was in charge of the Engine Test Department of the same firm.

In 1927 he became Research Engineer at the Engine Testing Laboratory of Ricardo and Co., and remained with the Company until the time of his death on 27th April, 1944, at the age of 42.

He was elected a Graduate in 1922 and transferred to Associate Member in 1932. He was Hon. Secretary of the Luton Graduates' Branch from 1923 to 1924.
