GEC Mechanical Handling
1969 GEC Elliott Mechanical Handling was formed from 4 parts of the GEC and Elliott Automation businesses[1]. It was successfully integrated by Nicholas Couch[2]
1971 The marine division of GEC Elliott Mechanical Handling supplied CO2 storage and vaporisation equipment to the CEGB[3]
1974 Order received from British Steel Corporation to design and construct a comprehensive silica preparation plant at the Templetown works in Consett, County Durham. Consisted of a kiln, rotary dryer, crusher, mills, screens, feeds, conveyors and silos. It was expected to produce 750 tons/week of silica.[4]
1976 GEC Elliott Mechanical Handling supplied conveyor for mining project in Peru[5]
1981 GEC Mechanical Handling became part of GEC-FAST
1988 Advertised for staff at new Whetstone office[6]
