Subsidiary of GEC

1967 GEC acquired AEI. Small motors had been produced at factories in Coventry, Blackheath/Birmingham, Newcastle under Lyme and Thorne/Doncaster. These were taken into GEC Light Industrial Products where they were associated with the Woods fan business[1]

1968 The acquisition of Keith Blackman was expected to strengthen the Light Industrial Products group's fan activities.

1989 The Industrial Apparatus part of GEC's business covered industrial products such as wire and cable, lifts, fans and heating control systems[2], some if not all of which would have been in this business unit.

1997 Satchwell Controls Co did not fit the company under its new management so was sold to Siebe[3]
