Mr G. E. Currier, OBE (Fellow), died in January at the age of 74.

Educated in Birmingham, Mr Currier began his career in the gas industry as a trainee with the City's Gas Department in 1911. He moved to Yorkshire in 1926 and joined the Bradford Corporation Gas Department, where he was for many years Gas Engineer and Manager. He was appointed Regional Gas Engineer in 1945 and became Deputy Chairman of the NE Gas Board in 1948. He retired in 1961.

A Member of the Institution since 1934, Mr Currier served the Institution's Membership, Committee for many years. He will be remembered with affection and respect by his many colleagues and friends in the Institution and in industry.
