1986 Fyffes was acquired by Fruit Importers of Ireland and renamed Fyffes plc

1997 Acquired Velleman & Tas BV (founded in 1850), one of Europe's leading banana distributors and the Netherlands' largest fresh produce company.

Fyffes is now the oldest fruit brand in the world, operating in Europe, North, Central and South America.
