Frederick Adams (1867-1938)
Frederick Adams (1867-1938), civil engineer and expert on diatoms, and an avid amateur microscopist.
Born at Bromley the son of John Henry Adams
1871 Living at 38 Arundel Square, Islington: John Henry Adams (age 51 born Stepney), Railway Supt. and Civil Engineer. with his wife Sarah Adams (age 51 born Gillingham) and their children; Henry Adams (age 25 born Limehouse), Civil Engineer; Robert Adams (age 20 born Kingsland), Clerk in Docks; John Adams (age 18 born Poplar), Clerk in Gas Works; Francis Adams (age 16 born Poplar), Clerk to General Agent; Alice Adams (age 11 born Bow); and Frederick Adams (age 4 born Bromley, Essex). Also a visitor and two servants.[1]
1884 Worked on construction at Newport Docks, Wales.
c.1886, he worked on railway construction in Venezuela.
1888 Moved to Mexico as chief engineer for construction of the Inter-Oceanic Railway.
1892 Elected ICE
Spent much of his life working as a civil engineer in Mexico
Worked for S. Pearson and Son
1938 November 14th. Died at Jersey
