1907 Obituary [3]

"We have to record with deep regret the death of Mr Francis Bolling, senior partner in the old-established London firm of Bolling and Lowe.

Mr. Bolling was born in Copenhagen, being the son of the Director-in-Chief of the Royal Library in that city. As a young man he came over to England, and was for some time with the well known banking firm of Messrs. C. Hambro and Son. After an interval passed again in Denmark he returned to London, where he entered the firm of William Bird and Co., whose business he eventually took over in conjunction with the late Mr. J. E. Lowe; and later on took into partnership Mr. L. Reincke and Mr. Clarence Bird - nephew of the late Mr. William Bird - who had also been some time connected with the firm.

Mr. Bolling was well known to most of those connected with the iron and steel trade, and will certainly be kindly remembered by all who had occasion to meet him either in business or otherwise. He was for many years on the board of the British Iron Trades Association, a member of the London Chamber of Commerce, and the late King Christian of Denmark honoured him by conferring upon him the Order of the Dannebrog."
