  • 'Stationary Steam Engines of Great Britain, Volume 6: The South Midlands', by George Watkins, Landmark Publishing Ltd.' includes a photograph (Plate 126) of a Horse Wheel at Morrell‘s Brewery in Oxford, made by Francis Anding. This was a horizontal wheel 15 ft diameter with gear teeth on the rim and on one face. This was driven by two steam engines, and was used to transmit the power to various items of brewery equipment.
