Flint and Co

From Graces Guide

St. Dunstan's Brewery, Canterbury

1903 Flint and Company Limited was formed, with capital of £140,000, to acquire the whole of the business assets and undertaking of Flint and Sons Limited, Canterbury. The latter company was stated to have been formed in 1893 to take over the business of that name at St. Dunstan's Brewery, which had been established upwards of 100 years.[1]

1923 The business was purchased by Alfred Leney and Co of Dover with the intention to continue brewing at Dover, while the Canterbury premises would be used as a store only. The principal owner of Flint and Co, was Sir John Reeves Ellerman, the shipping magnate.[2]
