1960 .... arrangements they have made and are making to admit private industry into the Dockyard. "One firm, Messrs Faraday Electronic Instruments Limited, are already in production and others are likely to follow in the very near future."[1]

1961 Factory employing 319 persons for the production of Hi-Fi sound equipment, Electro-medical equipment and Naval communications equipment.[2]

1966 Shortage of orders led to redundancies[3]. In July it was announced the company would close completely[4]

1968 George Washington Ltd was advertising for staff, saying that it would give preference to ex-Faraday employees[5]
