Mr F. W. Partington, M.Sc. (Associate Member), who died during July, was a very active member of the Institution. He was closely concerned with the formation of two Branches: the Yorkshire, and the Western.

Apprenticed to Buckley and Taylor Ltd, Oldham, Mr Partington went to Manchester University in 1911, graduating in 1914. He served in the 1914-18 war, first with an Infantry regiment and later with the R.F.C.
