Ernest Jones (c1899- ) of Carbodies

1899 Born in Heywood, the son of Robert Jones and his wife Lillie Bridge

1911 Living at 104 Kingsway Coventry. Robert Jones (age 37 born Bury), a Motor Body Builder's Foreman. With his wife (married twelve year with on child) Lillie Jones (age 33 born Rochdale) and their son Ernest Jones (age 12 born Heywood). [1]

Studied engineering at Coventry Technical School, and Body-building at Liverpool Technical School.

1913 Apprenticed in Body-making.

Afterwards engaged in aeroplane rigging at Daimler Co. and subsequently engine building and testing at Swift Motor Co.

WWI Served in Royal Flying Corps and later R.A.F.

1919 returned to engine and chassis building with Daimler's

1920 Carbodies Ltd.
