1893 Epstein accumulators were in use in 6 cars on one of the lines of the Birmingham Central Tramways Co[2]
1900 The Epstein Electric Accumulator Syndicate granted W. O. Rooper and Robins, electrical engineers of Stafford, sole licence to make and sell Epstein accumulator plates and storage batteries. W. O. Rooper and Robins manufactured the plates by Mr Epstein's original process with the assistance of many of his staff at their new works at Stafford.[3]
