1902 John Russell and Co share issue. 'This Company was formed in 1876 for the purpose of acquiring, amalgamating, and working the well-known and valuable undertakings and businesses of John Russell and Co., and Emily Russell and Co., Tube Manufacturers, Factors and Merchants, The Alma Tube Works, Walsall, with the Branch Manufactories and works at Wednesbury, and depots in London and Manchester; and since that time the undertaking has been added to and extended, until at the present time it comprises in addition: The Cyclops Ironworks, Walsall; the Birchills Furnaces at Bloxwich; the Belmont Chandelier Works in Birmingham, and depots at Leeds and Bristol. The business of John Russell and Co. was originally founded in the year 1811, and was carried on as a private firm until it was acquired by the Company.'[1]
