Born at Denbury, near Newton Abbot, the daughter of Walter Septimus Curtis
1933 Royal Aero Club Certificates No. 15099: DH.Moth – Yapton Aero Club
WW2 Joined the Air Transport Auxiliary
Became the first female to fly the heavy four-engine bombers, including Halifaxes, Lancasters and the the US B-17 Flying Fortress. She had flown 400 of them by the close of the war.
Joined Aeroplane and Armament Experimental Establishment
1953 Joined Fairey Aviation Co to be their senior flight development engineer
Joined the Civil Aviation Authority
