1946 Company formed to make potentiometers. The company was a wholly-owned subsidiary of E. K. Cole. Mullard gave Egen a contract to make potentiometers under licence to an Elcoma design.

1955 Subsidiary of E. K. Cole Ltd; supplied products to most of the leading manufacturers in the radio industry[1]

1958 Continued to be a subsidiary of E K Cole[2]

1981 Part of Cambridge Electronic Industries when it was incorporated as a plc.

1982 Merged into Belling and Lees' component division.
