Edwin O. Sachs
Edwin O. Sachs FRSE, FRGS, Chairman of the British Fire Prevention Committee.
1892 First practiced as an architect
Was the first person to apply electricity to the working of the stage. The system was adopted at the Covent Garden opera house and to some extent at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.
1897 Founded the British Fire Prevention Committee.
1899 Responsible for establishing the first fire testing station in Europe.
1919 Died in his 50th year after a long illness[1]
