1851 Living at 57 Budnell? Place, Shoreditch: Ed W. Ladd (age 51 born Margate), Hydo Master Mak and Opt. With his wife Eliz Ladd (age 51 born Chilton) and their son Matt. Ladd (age 20 born St. Georges, Mddx), Master Engineer.[1]

1861 Living at 6 Ivy Terrace, West Ham: Edward Wilds Ladd (age 61 born Margate), Mathematical Instrument Maker. With his wife Elizabeth Ladd (age 61 born Chillen, Bucks). Also his grand-daughter Emily Lindop (age 7 born St. James, Clerkenwell) and a visitor Mimie Lindop (age 3 born New North Road, Wilton). One servant.[2]
