EDMUND COLVILE ELLIOT, second son of the late Mr. Augustus John Elliot of the Bengal Civil Service, was born on the 15th of May, 1857. After being educated at Cheltenham College he went through the course of instruction at the Royal Indian Engineering College, Coopers Hill, where he was a prominent athlete and captain of the boats, and made himself highly popular by his genial manner and good nature. In September, 1878, he was appointed an Assistant Engineer in the Public Works Department of the Government of India.....[more]
