1922 A.M.I.Mech.E., Mechanical Engineer, Oak Lodge, Clondalkin, Co. Dublin; b. 1886; youngest s. of Col. A. Bredin (retired), I.S.C. Ed. Mountjoy School, Dublin, later at Dr. Crawley's Academy, Dublin; private Technical Tuition. Professional Training: Two years as pupil with Fielding and Platt, Gloucester, followed by two years pupilage at Inchicore Works of G.S. and W.R., Ireland (Locomotive, Carriage and Wagon Works, Firing, etc. ). Professional Career: G.S. and W. Railway, Ireland. Has held the following positions— Locomotive Engineer's Office, revising locomotive coal-consumption standards; Assistant to Running Superintendent; in Charge of Running Shed, Power Station, etc., Rosslare Harbour, Co. Wexford; Assistant Running Superintendent; District Locomotive Superintendent, Dublin; Assistant Works Manager (present position ), Inchicore. War Services.—Carried on duties of Works Manager for eighteen months during that officer's absence.

1939 Career: Various junr. positions, G.S.W.R.; later Northern District Loco Supt.; Asst. Works Manager, Inchicore; Works Manager, Inchicore; Works Manager, G.S.R. (after amalgamation).
