1904 Eadie Chain Co was renamed Ecco Works, making the Ecco braking system and the Armstrong typewriter (Eadie model).

1906 The Abingdon-Ecco company was registered on 27 August, to take over the Abingdon Works Co and the Ecco Works. [2]
1907 A new purpose-built factory was opened at Tyseley.
