Small grasshopper engine at Shambler’s Wharf, Cowes, Isle of Wight [1]. The engine drove slipway haulage machinery at E. Cole and Sons Shambler’s Yard, running on compressed air when photographed by George Watkins in 1969. He recorded the output as about 8 - 10 HP. Cylinder 12" bore, 2' 3" stroke.[2]

1897 'The Fedora, s.s., has been sold by the Duke of Montrose to Lord Newborough, and she is to be coated and painted at the Shamblers yard before starting on a trip to Rangoon.'[3]

1911 'The ex-Empress Eagénie's steam yacht left her winter berth at Shamblers Yard'[4]
