1893 Mentioned in connection with the Turner Pneumatic Tyre Co

1904 September 16th. 'The patent taken out fourteen years ago by C. K. Welch, which made the Dunlop-Welch pneumatic tyre famous throughout the world, expires today.'[1] 'Mr. James Welch improved on that method of fixing the cover to the rim in 1890. He used two inextensible wires solutioned into the edges the outer cover. By the process of inflating the inner cover these wires embedded themselves in the rim and prevented the covering from blowing.off. This patent was acquired by the Dunlop Company...'[2]
