Drumjohn Power Station

Part of the Galloway hydro scheme’s electricity generation plants.

This small power station was constructed (by the South of Scotland Electricity Board in 1983-4 as the first hydro-electric power station to be built by them. It uses water released from the Drumjohn needle valve into Carsphairn Lake, and is designed for unmanned operation. It may be considered as a late addition to the Galloway Hydro-Electric Scheme.[1]
