Diamant Boart

1882 Experiments by an unnamed drilling engineer in South Africa showed the efficacy of using selected boart in boring operations in search of coal.[1].

1937 Diamant Boart S.A. was founded in Belgium. Developed tools and machines for industrial use, using boart, a low quality diamond found in diamond mines in the Congo. Subsequently, synthetic industrial diamonds, developed in the 1960s, have replaced natural diamonds; they now represent 95% of world industrial diamond consumption.

1959 F. Yorke and Partners Ltd was incorporated

Later Yorke became part of Diamant Boart (U.K.) Ltd

1988 DIAMANT BOART CRAELIUS LIMITED advertised for staff[2]

1988 Diamant Boart UK Limited - Worldwide distributors of diamond products, Gelderd Road, Birstall, Batley WFI7 9LW[3]

1992 DIAMANT BOART (UK) LTD. One of Europe’s major suppliers of .. the construction and civil engineering industry[4]

By 1995, Diamant Boart (U.K.) Ltd, British subsidiary of a Netherlands company of similar name, was a supplier in diamond tools to the engineering, stone and construction industries[5]

1997 Diamant Boart Industries Ltd was incorporated

1998 Diamant Boart (U.K.) moved to Leeds

2002 Diamant Boart S.A. was acquired by Husqvarna becoming part of the Group’s Construction Division.

2022 Rebrand of the Stone Diamond Tools business to Husqvarna.
