1874 Incorporated as a limited company

1890s L. Gardner and Sons made dentists' chairs for the company; some were raised hydraulically, and some by rack and pinion; 106 were made in three years.

1914 About 700 employees

1949 75th AGM; chairman was Frank Hawtin; Blackpool factory was fully utilized; amalgamation with Anglo-American Dental Corporation by purchase - maker of acrylic teeth [1]

c.1957 May have acquired Richard Sizer about now or later[2]

1959 Acquired Staines Kitchen Equipment Co[3]

1960 Acquired Northfleet Industrial Holdings[4]

1968 Sold dental division to A. D. International. Name changed to Hawtin Industries [5]
