Denis Ferranti Meters
of Bangor, Caernarvonshire
1951 Denis Ferranti, son of Sebastian Ziani de Ferranti, set up Denis Ferranti Meters to make electricity meters in competition with Ferranti Ltd. Acquired British Electric Meters Ltd.
At some point the business grew with further lines of business in transformers and instruments
1962 Built a novel design of welding machine with UKAEA for welding magnesium fuel rod casings; it used computer control techniques[1]
1967 Denis Z. De Ferranti sold the transformer division of the company, Denis Ferranti Meters, to GEC. The company concentrated on meters and instruments. Nigel Z. de Ferranti (b.1940) was managing director[2].
1968 Supplied in-core measuring equipment and transformers for the Winfrith Power Station [3]
1968 Lock out of staff at Denis Ferranti Meters, who took industrial action faced with redundancies.[4]

c. 1970 Mark Ziani de Ferranti, of the third generation of the family, became Chairman and Managing Director of the company.
1984 Acquired shares in Denis Ferranti Laminations Ltd
1993 Company was in existence
2013 James Ziani de Ferranti, the fourth generation, was General Manager.
