Delagoa Bay Railway

From Graces Guide

1888 Construction of the Delagao Bay Railway encountered a major obstacle which introduced an indefinite delay in the completion of the line to Pretoria - the contractors had misunderstood the precise position of the Transvaal boundary, necessitating the line crossing a range of mountains.[1]

1894 The railway line between Johannesburg/Pretoria and Delagoa Bay was completed.

1895 July: the ceremonial opening of the line took place.
