Deeside Titanium Ltd. of North Wales.
1978 ICI decided to close their Titanium plant (capacity 3,600 TPA) which was 25 years old and needed significant investment.
1982 Opening of the 5,000 tonne a year plant at Deeside, North Wales, which was owned by Rolls-Royce (20%), Billiton UK (62.5%) and IMI Titanium (17.5%), built on 50 acres of land acquired from British Steel Corporation.[1]
1993 THE Government has ruled out any chance of saving the doomed firm Deeside Titanium, a subsidiary of Rolls Royce on the Deeside Industrial Park will close before the end of the year making 73 people ...[2]
