c.1889 Swing bridge over the Dee at Connah's Quay, constructed from the designs of Mr. Francis Fox, M. Inst. C.E., and erected by Messrs. J. Cochrane and Sons, to carry the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway. Known as the Hawarden Swing Bridge. The bridge had three spans, one of which opened to allow river traffic.
