Note: Blake Street was in an area of Manchester which mainly consisted of Victorian terraced houses. Blake Street, which branched off Stretford Road, had a mix of small houses and various business premises. By the turn of the 19th/20th century, many of the buildings had been occupied by a company that was to become rather more successful than Davy Engineering - Royce Ltd
